Crosswalk Safety Awareness: A Friendly Reminder

The Harrisville Police is asking for your help to keep Utah’s roads safe for everyone—especially those walking in our community.

Under Utah Code § 41‑6a‑1002, drivers are required to slow down or stop for pedestrians in marked and unmarked crosswalks, and to fully stop at school crosswalks when someone is crossing. These laws are in place to protect neighbors, friends, children, and families.

Most drivers want to do the right thing and a little extra attention at crosswalks can make a big difference.

👀 Please slow down
🚶‍♂️ Watch carefully for pedestrians
🛑 Stop when someone is crossing

By working together, we can reduce close calls, prevent injuries, and make our streets safer for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.

Thank you for helping us look out for one another. 💙
