School Resource Officer

Harrisville Police Department, in partnership with the Weber School District, has Master Officer Paradis assigned to the local schools in Harrisville. Master Officer Paradis is assigned as the full-time school resource officer at Orion Jr. High School. He also assists Majestic Elementary School and Greenwood Charter School in a variety of events and school safety trainings.

• Patrol school grounds and monitor activities to maintain a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff.
• Respond to and manage crisis situations and emergencies.
• Develop and implement crime prevention strategies.
• Work closely with school administration and staff to address violations of school policies and laws, applying disciplinary
• actions or making arrests when necessary.
• Foster positive relationships with students, teachers, and staff to create a safe and trusting environment. Serve as a mentor and role model for students, guiding them towards making positive choices.
• SROs play a crucial role in maintaining a safe learning environment and fostering positive relationships within the school community. They are not only enforcers of the law but also educators and mentors who contribute to the overall well-being of students.
