🚨 COMMUNITY NOTICE – FIREWORKS BAN IN HARRISVILLE

After careful consideration and consultation with public safety officials, Harrisville City will be honoring the statewide fireworks restrictions issued under Governor Spencer Cox’s emergency order due to the historic wildfire conditions currently impacting Utah. State leaders have cited unprecedented fire danger, severe drought conditions, and critically limited firefighting resources as the primary reasons for these restrictions.

We recognize that this year holds special significance as our nation celebrates America 250 and begins commemorating 250 years of American independence. We understand that fireworks have long been an important part of those celebrations and family traditions. However, the safety of our community and the wellbeing of our first responders must take precedence.

Governor Cox and state fire officials have made it clear that Utah is experiencing one of the most dangerous wildfire seasons in recent history, with firefighting resources stretched thin across the state. A single preventable fire could place additional strain on emergency services when those resources are already needed elsewhere.

For that reason, Harrisville City is choosing to support the fireworks ban rather than create local exceptions. This decision is made out of respect for the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and other first responders who are already working tirelessly to protect our communities.

⚠️ ENFORCEMENT NOTICE ⚠️

Due to the seriousness of the current fire conditions, the Harrisville Police Department will have a zero-tolerance enforcement policy regarding the fireworks ban. Any violations will be addressed, and citations will be issued to those found discharging fireworks in violation of the restrictions.

We ask for your cooperation, understanding, and support as we work together to protect lives, property, and the limited emergency resources available during this critical time.

Thank you for helping us keep Harrisville safe and for standing behind the first responders who serve our community every day.
