As the winter season approaches, our Public Works Department has been getting equipment ready to help service the residents of Harrisville with snow removal.
It’s important to keep in mind that their efforts are counted on by several people. People who may not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Some of our residents are newly licensed and this is their first winter driving. If your vehicles or trailers are parked on the roadway, it greatly slows down the effort to remove snow from the roadway. It’s not very efficient causing the plow drivers to contact law enforcement to get the obstacle removed, causing them to come back at a later time to clear that section of the road.
A clear road makes it easier for Fire and Emergency Medical Services to respond to our residents who need assistance. It can make it difficult for some of their large vehicles to navigate areas such as cul-de-sacs and some of our narrow neighborhood streets. Please work with us by reading and understanding the city ordinance. We hope as snow falls, everyone enjoys the awesome Winter Season.
