Investigations

The Investigations Division provides a wide array of services within the Harrisville Police Department including investigations on open cases, Sex Offender Registration and School Resource Officer services. It is comprised of 3 full-time sworn and 1 civilian employee. It is overseen by a Command Sergeant who also manages the Evidence Unit. The primary mission of the division is to investigate person and major crimes working directly with our residents, local businesses and our partners in the CJC (Children’s Justice Center), YCC, (Your Community Connection Family Crisis Center) DCFS (Division of Child and Family Services), NUSANE (Northern Utah Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners), and Domestic Violence Coalition as well as the Ogden ATAC (Area Tactical Analysis Center). Additionally, Investigations covers theft, fraud, and property crimes that require a broader scope or extended examination beyond the capabilities of the patrol division. The School Resource Officer position is also overseen by the Investigations Command Sergeant and they work to provide services for our three local public schools.

Investigators are provided specialized training for their positions such as Forensic Interview Training (FIT), Gathering Forensic Data from Cell Phones and Digital Evidence, or Phlebotomy Technician Certification. The men and women working in the Investigations Division are experienced and dedicated law enforcement professionals whose tenacity and attention to detail allow them to provide exceptional services for our community.
